ABOUT US

The specific purpose for which The House of Faith Church is organized is to establish and oversee places of worship, conduct the work of evangelism worldwide, create departments necessary to support missionary activities and to license and oversee ministers of the gospel and to also engage in activities which are necessary, suitable or convenient for the accomplishment of that purpose, or which are incidental thereto or connected therewith which are consistent with Section 501 (c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code.  This corporation is organized and operated exclusively for religious purposes within the meaning of Section 501 (c)(3), Internal Revenue Code.

Senior Pastor

Pastor Bruce A. Shields and his wife Terri started House of Faith Ministries in 2000 before Bruce served as an Elder at the First Baptist Church for over four years. He also served two years as interim Pastor for the First Baptist Church. After moving to East Tawas, he and his wife turned their ministry into the Bible-founded House of Faith Church in 2006 where he now serves as Senior Pastor and Seminary Instructor.

Pastor Shields has also authored Nearly 800 sermon manuscripts, Theological books including a Minister's Manual, and is currently serving as the Vice-President of the Tawas Area Ministerial Association.

Children's Church Leader / Treasurer

Terri L. Shields began working in the House of Faith Ministry with her husband in 2000 when they first founded the organization. The ministry raised money for many local and outreach programs including Feed the Children, World Vision, and many more including Toys for Tots, Marine Family Christmas Fund, building wells in Africa, helping establish an orphanage, and sending care packages to soldiers in Afghanistan during the war in early 2000.

Terri now teaches the children under 12 in the church, as well as oversees the finances of The House of Faith Church as the Treasurer.

Lori Ulman

Community Outreach

Lori Ulman began serving The House of Faith Church as its Financial Secretary in 2006. After she attended the HOFC Theological Seminary from 2007-2010 she graduated and became an ordained minister. She continues to serve as well as lead the Women's and Children's Group Ministry.

Lori and her husband Kurt currently run the Healing Acres Petting Farm (Facebook Group) where she ministers to people in a fun and engaging way using animals to break barriers.  She also opens the Healing Acres for special occasions for handicapped or special needs children and takes some of the animals to the local Nursing Homes for visitations.

Lori also serves as the Iosco Ministerial Associations Nursing Home Chaplain.

Deacon Kurt E. Ulman

Deacon

Deacon Kurt Ulman began serving The House of Faith Church as a Deacon in 2006. After attending HOFC Theological Seminary from 2007-2010, he graduated and became an ordained minister. Kurt continues to serve as Deacon.

Church Clerk / Secretary
Card Ministry

Marney has been a long-time member of the House of Faith Church, serving first in the Card Ministry, which she continues to this day, then as Church Clerk and Secretary.  

She is a blessing to have and a great asset to the House of Faith Church.
