Servant Leadership

Rev. Bruce A. Shields
Senior Pastor
Pastor Bruce A. Shields and his wife, Terri, founded House of Faith Ministries in 2000. Prior to establishing the church, Pastor Shields served for more than four years as an Elder at First Baptist Church and later fulfilled a two year term as Interim Pastor.
Following their move to East Tawas, the ministry was established as the Bible founded House of Faith Church in 2006. Pastor Shields now serves as Senior Pastor and Seminary Instructor, faithfully shepherding the congregation while training others for ministry.
In addition to his pastoral work, Pastor Shields has authored nearly one thousand sermons and several theological works, including a comprehensive Minister’s Manual. He also served for several years as President of the Iosco Ministerial Association, contributing to cooperative ministry and pastoral leadership throughout the region.

Kurt Ulman
Deacon
Deacon Kurt Ulman has faithfully served House of Faith Church as a Deacon since 2006. In 2010, he graduated from seminary with a certificate in Christian Ministry, receiving a high achievement award in recognition of his academic excellence and commitment to biblical training.
Beyond his service at House of Faith, Deacon Ulman has been actively involved in missions work. Alongside his wife, Lori, he has participated in multiple missionary trips to Africa, where they have helped build, support, and sustain orphanages in Uganda. These efforts have included hands on service, encouragement of local ministries, and ongoing support for children in need, reflecting a deep commitment to the global work of the gospel.
Deacon Ulman continues to serve faithfully at House of Faith Church alongside his wife and their children, Isaac and Leah.

Trenton Shields
Deacon
Deacon Trenton Shields began serving House of Faith Church as a Deacon in 2020. Since that time, he and his wife, Hanna, have been actively involved in missions work with ABWE, the Association of Baptists for Worldwide Evangelism. Through this partnership, they have traveled both throughout the United States and internationally, supporting missionary efforts and advancing the work of the gospel across diverse cultural settings.
In addition to his ministry service, Deacon Shields has pursued formal theological training. He studied at Living Faith Bible Institute while working toward an Associate of Divinity degree and currently attends Replum Institute of Christian Studies, where he is continuing his education toward a Bachelor of Theology. His academic preparation reflects a commitment to sound doctrine, biblical literacy, and faithful ministry leadership.
