Rev. Bruce A. Shields and his wife Terri begin the House of Faith Ministries in their home, converting their basement into a free clothing/food pantry for anyone who needed.

December 2002

Rev. Bruce A. Shields begins serving the First Baptist Church as an Elder.

January 2003

The House of Faith Ministries begins sponsorship through World Vision of Ethiopia. Project Quacha Bira ADP. Their sponsored child's name is Daniel Denknesh. She has four brothers and three sisters.

March 2003

The House of Faith Ministries received a letter from Rev. Dr. Daniel Edwin, founder and president of World Gospel Faith Church, thanking us for supporting their ministry Bethesda Mission, in Ban galore-South India, working mostly in the three states of Karnmataka and Andhra.

May 15th, 2003

The House of Faith Ministries receives a letter from Larry Jones of Feed the Children, for the continued partnership and sponsorship of Katumbi Kioko.

May 21st, 2003

The House of Faith Ministries receives a letter from Frances Jones, the co-founder of ABC (Abandoned Baby Center, a project through Feed the Children). Thanking the House of Faith Church for their continued financial support.

June 6th, 2003

The House of Faith Ministries receives their EIN (35-2206435) from the IRS and officially begins its ministry, both locally and worldwide, beginning with World Vision of Ethiopia, Project Quacha Bira ADP.

August 12th, 2003

The House of Faith Ministries begins supporting missionaries in India through Gospel for Asia.

September 11th, 2003

Rev. Bruce A. Shields completes studies through World Christianship Ministries bible school receiving his licensed ordination and certificate of Christian ministry.

October 4th, 2003

Rev. Bruce A. Shields completes studies through World Christianship Ministries bible school becoming a certified Pastoral Counselor.

December 2003

The House of Faith Ministries receives a letter from Ratlam, Madhya Pradesh, India from Sukram Devda, a minister the House of Faith Ministries supported, thanking the House of Faith for helping the Bhil tribes with 600 gospel tracks, 50 New Testament Bibles and 20 other Christian books.

December 31st, 2003

The House of Faith Ministries received a letter from K. P. Yohannan, the President of Gospel for Asia, with thanks and blessings for the donations given to their ministry. The House of Faith gave support to a missionary in Madhya Pradesh, India. Their mission is evangelism, church planting, bible schools, gospel distribution, and Christian radio broadcasts in Hindi, Marathi, Urdu, Oriya, Sindhi, and Banjara.

January 16th, 2004

The House of Faith Ministries receives a letter from Congressman Bart Stupak in support and response to a letter from Rev. Bruce A. Shields wanting to ban partial birth abortion. This legislation was signed into law on November 5th, 2003.

January 17th, 2004

Rev. Bruce A. Shields completes 170+ hours of Biblical and Theological training courses through Dayspring Ministries school, becoming a licensed minister.

August 2004

Rev. Bruce A. Shields completes his courses at the American Baptist Churches certificate of Christian Ministry program to recognize his ordination for service as pastor in American Baptist Churches.

September 2004

Rev. Bruce A. Shields begins serving as Interim Pastor of the First Baptist Church in Tawas City, Michigan.

August 10th, 2005

Rev. Bruce A. Shields is recognized by Dayspring Ministries in Flint, Michigan as a certified licensed minister, having completed the required courses.

January 2nd, 2006

The House of Faith Ministries partners with the Intramural Christian Youth Basketball. (ICY)

April 1st, 2006

Rev. Bruce A. Shields receives a certificate in recognition of supporting and volunteering for the Intramural Christian Youth Basketball. (ICY)

August 23rd, 2006

House of Faith Ministries receives a letter from Daniel Denknesh through World Vision Ethiopia. She thanked us for the letter we sent to her.

October 8th, 2006

The House of Faith Ministries began having church services in members' homes—the first service was held at the home of Bud and Nancy Kramer. Each Sunday was a different home. There were around 40 members at the time.

October 16th, 2006

Rev. Bruce A. Shields finishes writing the Articles of Incorporation and the House of Faith Ministries Constitution and Bylaws, mailing the Articles of Incorporation to the Department of Labor & Economic Growth.

November 6th, 2006

The Department of Labor & Economic Growth sends notice that they received the Articles of Incorporation for the House of Faith Ministries.

November 6th, 2006

Rev. Bruce A. Shields sends an application to the IRS requesting the Public Charity Status for Religious Organizations.

December 2006

The House of Faith Ministries purchases an old Apostolic Church at 214 Adams St., in East Tawas, Michigan. Their first service is a Christmas Eve Celebration service. Rev. Bruce A. Shields is officially named Senior Pastor.

January 23rd, 2007

A letter from the IRS is received informing the House of Faith Ministries that they will receive the 501(c)(3) tax exempt status as a religious organization. Also qualifying to receive tax deductible bequests, devises, transfers or gifts under section 2055, 2106 or 2522 of the code. The House of Faith Ministries also received the Public Charity Status: 170(b)(1)(A)(i), all of which became effective as of November 20th, 2006.

August 1st, 2021

Rev. Bruce A. Shields becomes a member of the Tawas Area Minister Association (TAMA), which has served the area for over 30 years.

April, 2022

Rev. Bruce A. Shields is elected Vice-President and the organization changes its name to Iosco County Ministerial Association (IMA) because ministers from the entire county participate, not just Tawas.

September 21st, 2022

Rev. Bruce A. Shields and his wife Terri receive their certificates of completion for Stuart Carvers The Birth of a Family Program, becoming certified facilitators working with the Harbor Lights Pregnancy & Information Center in East Tawas, Michigan.

August 16th, 2023

Rev. Bruce A. Shields is elected President of the Iosco Ministerial Association (IMA).

January 1st, 2024

Harbor church of East Tawas purchases a new roof for the House of Faith Church to support local

churches in need.
