When Conviction Contradicts Scripture

"The simple believes everything, But the prudent one discerns his steps." - Proverbs 14:15
I have seen far too many proclaiming Christians led astray by false teachers, false doctrines, and even their own vain imaginations.
"For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine, but wanting to have their ears tickled, they will accumulate for themselves teachers in accordance with their own desires, and will turn away their ear from the truth and will turn aside to myths." - 2 Timothy 4:3-4
"...remain on at Ephesus so that you may command certain ones not to teach a different doctrine, 4 nor to pay attention to myths and endless genealogies, which give rise to mere speculation rather than furthering the stewardship from God which is by faith." - 1 Timothy 1:3b-4
The saddest part of this is that they have read and heard the truth of God's word. But because they choose to remain in "their belief," though it contradicts scripture, they are unwilling to grow spiritually following the truth, remaining spiritually immature, but thinking they are mature in the word of God.
In some cases, considering themselves to be teachers, simply because they are confident in their conviction and belief, though it contradicts scripture.
"For some, straying from these things, have turned aside to fruitless discussion, wanting to be teachers of the Law, even though they do not understand either what they are saying or the matters about which they make confident assertions." - 1 Timothy 1:6-7
God warns those who teach to be mindful of what they teach. Myths, false teaching, false doctrines, vain imaginations, anything that contradicts scripture, should never be taught.
"Do not become many teachers, my brothers, knowing that we will receive a stricter judgment." - James 3:1
"But false prophets also arose among the people, just as there will also be false teachers among you, who will secretly introduce destructive heresies, even denying the Master who bought them, bringing swift destruction upon themselves. And many will follow their sensuality, and because of them the way of the truth will be maligned." 2 Peter 2:1-2
REPENT. Turn from vain imaginations, false teachings, heresies, all things which contradict the truth of scripture. Return to the word, and leave behind the heretical teachings, before it is too late.
"But even if we, or an angel from heaven, should proclaim to you a gospel contrary to the gospel we proclaimed to you, he is to be accursed! As we have said before, so I say again now, if any man is proclaiming to you a gospel contrary to what you received, he is to be accursed!" Galatians 1:8-9
