Mid-Week Encouragement May 15th, 2024
This week was the last time a good friend could join us at the Iosco Ministerial Association meeting. He served many years as our Corporate Secretary and is now moving to another part of the state, where I am sure he will continue serving the Lord as he and his wife have for many decades. He has done everything from mission work in Africa with his wife to serving as a full-time minister in the Methodist church for years.
The last three years I have served with him in IMA have been a pleasure, and it saddens me to see him leave. He has been both an inspiration and a brother in Christ. One of his inspirations is this mid-week newsletter! I stole the idea from him. After telling him what I had done, he asked if I would repent, and I said no because then I would have to stop the newsletter, which was too good of an idea.
Rev. Kris Kappler is one of the good and faithful servants the Body of Christ desperately needs more of, and I will miss him. We will all get together one last time for dinner and say our goodbyes. However, I will hold on to the fact that no matter how far he travels, whether we ever see each other again or not in this world, we will one day be together in glory with our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ!
1 Thessalonians 4:13-18
"But we do not want you to be uninformed, brothers, about those who are asleep, so that you will not grieve as do the rest who have no hope. 14 For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so God will bring with Him those who have fallen asleep in Jesus. 15 For this we say to you by the word of the Lord, that we who are alive and remain until the coming of the Lord, will not precede those who have fallen asleep. 16 For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first. 17 Then we who are alive and remain will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air, and so we shall always be with the Lord. 18 Therefore comfort one another with these words."
