Mid-Week Encouragement: March 27th, 2024
This week, I have been reminded that we live in a fallen world filled with sickness, disease, ailments, and various "storms" that come into our lives. We know that the scriptures do not promise we won't have storms but that if we build our lives upon the rock of Jesus Christ, we can withstand the storm regardless of what may come.
It's not just me with my eye issue; over the last few weeks, many in our congregation have come face to face with their own storms. The good news is that the New Testament is filled with promises from God about healing and His love for us.
James 5:15-16
"the prayer offered in faith will save the one who is sick, and the Lord will raise him up, and if he has committed sins, they will be forgiven him. 16 Therefore, confess your sins to one another, and pray for one another so that you may be healed. The effective prayer of a righteous man can accomplish much."
We are reminded that we must pray for one another because healing comes through faithful people praying! Jesus takes our burdens, His yoke is light, and peace in all situations may be found in Him!
So whether it is your body, heart, mind, or soul (even your right eye), take heart that the creator of the universe is listening to the prayers of the righteous for the healing of others!
AMEN!
