Mid-Week Encouragement February 28th, 2024
2 Timothy 1:7 "For God has not given us a spirit of timidity, but of power and love and self-discipline."
This week, I would like us to take a moment and think about the words of 2 Timothy. When we are saved, God's Holy Spirit dwells within us. Through Him, we may be brave, have access to His strength and might, have the ability to biblically love others, and one of the greater gifts, self-discipline. Not that we truly discipline ourselves, but rather that the Spirit of God within us allows us to discipline ourselves.
The Spirit of God provides all we need to be faithful servants of Christ Jesus. If there is ever a time we feel weak, unloving, or perhaps find ourselves straying from the truth of God's word in either thought, action, or deed, we need to call on the Name of Jesus, and He will do a work in us. We must not resist or quench the Holy Spirit.
2 Timothy 1:7 is a great scripture to put into practice. It is a great scripture to be a "doer" of!
