Are You Truly Living for Christ, or Yourself?

When we look at our lives to examine ourselves as scripture teaches, do we find ourselves living for the Lord and His Kingdom, or are we living selfishly for ourselves? How much time is devotes to both, growing yourself spiritually mature, and serving the kingdom?
It is far too easy to call ourselves "Christians," and too many people do without understanding the implications the namesake makes upon them and their lives.
Revelation 14:13 “And I heard a voice from heaven, saying, ‘Write, “Blessed are the dead who die in the Lord from now on!”’ ‘Yes,’ says the Spirit, ‘so that they may rest from their labors, for their deeds follow with them.’”
We MUST examine ourselves if we claim to be followers of Jesus Christ. As image bearers of our savior, we are called to live as such, not just vainly claim His name and continue to live selfishly in this world. Scripture warns of the day those who claim the name of Christ yet fall short of living in His love are rejected by the Lord for not "knowing" them. Revelation warns that our deeds not only separate us from the Lord, but also schedule judgment and retribution upon us for Judgment Day as well.
Psalm 90:12: “So teach us to number our days, that we may present to You a heart of wisdom.”
Matthew 6:19–21: “Do not store up for yourselves treasures on the earth, where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal. But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys and where thieves do not break in or steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.”
2 Corinthians 5:10: “For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, so that each one may be recompensed for his deeds in the body, according to what he has done, whether good or bad.”
Acts 13:36: “For David, after serving the purpose of God in his own generation, fell asleep and was laid with his fathers and saw corruption.”
Ecclesiastes 12:13–14: “The end of the matter, all that has been heard: fear God and keep His commandments, because this is the end of the matter for all mankind. For God will bring every work to judgment, everything which is hidden, whether it is good or evil.”
Reverent obedience to calling is the true measure of a life. The treasures he has acquired in heaven are a testament to His obedient faith.
